Services

Asphalt Overlays

  • Stabilize and/or repair damaged or deteriorated areas of existing lot to be resurfaced.
  • Edge mill curbs and transition areas, as required, to insure proper profile and drainage.
  • Clean area of vegetation, dirt, and surface debris.
  • Install asphalt leveling course, as required, to level any severely depressed areas.
  • Apply SS-1H emulsified liquid asphalt tack coat to surface.
  • Install specified inches of hot mix asphalt surface material.
  • Compact and roll surface course to smooth finish.
  • Re-stripe as specified.

OPTION: INSTALL GEO-TEXTILE FABRIC – AMOCO PETROMAT
Petromat extends the life of a new asphalt overlay. It consists of Amoco’s non-woven polypropylene fabric, field saturated with an asphalt cement tack coat. When placed between the existing pavement and the new overlay, the Petromat becomes an integral part of the pavement, forming a barrier to water infiltration and absorbing stresses to reduce reflective and fatigue cracking of the new asphalt surface layer.

Asphalt Repairs

Pothole Repair

  • Clean area of vegetation, dirt, and surface debris.
  • Apply SS-1H emulsified liquid asphalt tack coat to surface.
  • Install hot mix asphalt over the deteriorated area.
  • Compact and roll to a smooth finish.

Skin Patch Overlay Repair

  • Clean area of vegetation, dirt, and surface debris.
  • Apply SS-1H emulsified liquid asphalt tack coat to surface.
  • Install approximately 1 ½ inches of hot mix asphalt over the deteriorated area.
  • All edges will be feathered down and the patches squared off.
  • Compact and roll to a smooth finish.

Partial Depth Asphalt Repair

  • Cold mill areas to specified depth – usually 2″ to 4″ inches.

  • Install (TBD) inches of hot mix asphalt base material.
  • Tack coat surface of asphalt base course to provide proper binding of the new surface course.
  • Install two (2) inch hot asphalt mix surface course.
  • Compact and roll surface to a smooth finish.

Reconstruct Existing Parking Lots

  • Reconstruct existing parking lot by removing existing asphalt pavement material to the depth of existing asphalt, plus rock base, if required.
  • Stabilize base, if required.
  • Compact parking lot to proper density and grade area for proper profile and drainage.
  • Install rock sub-base, as required.
  • Install new asphalt parking lot per specification.
  • Compact and roll to a smooth finish.

New Construction

  • Prepare bid per specifications.
  • Bid job as General or Subcontractor, depending on size and scope of work.
  • Perform work on site as required by approved engineer or architectural plans.

Asphalt Milling

Asphalt milling (also called grinding) is a process to remove some or all of an asphalt surface to a specified depth with an industrial milling machine, most frequently seen on resurfacing projects on streets and highways. Immediately afterwards the surface can be used as a driving surface until new asphalt is installed and the area is restored to a smooth driving surface.

Crack Sealing

  • Cracks, 1/4 inches or larger, will be cleaned of all vegetation and debris.
  • Pavement will be thoroughly cleaned with high velocity air blowers used in conjunction with stiff brooms.
  • Cracks will be filled with hot-applied rubber-asphalt sealer heated to 380 degrees at application. Sealer meets federal ASTM D-3405 specifications.

Sealcoating

  • Prepare asphalt pavement by thoroughly cleaning with high velocity air blowers used in conjunction with stiff brooms.
  • Pavement will be squeegee sealed with MAC-52 asphalt sealer, reinforced with four pounds of silica sand per gallon per manufacturer’s specifications.
  • All trim work will be applied by squeegee-brush so as not to splash on adjacent concrete surfaces or structures.

Painting

  • Parking Lines, Handicap Stalls, Visitors, Etc.
  • Lines and marking will be applied per existing, or as specified.
  • Lines will be straight and four (4) inches in width. Paint shall me federal specifications TTP-1952B.

Miscellaneous

French Drains

French drains are used to intercept water before it gets under a pavement area. The water is channeled into a pipe, installed in a trench, and surrounded by rock. It is designed to catch the water and send it into a drainage swale or catch basin.
